Some Spring Decorating

In follow-up to my Easter Banner. Here are some pictures of my Spring Decorations.

My Mantel

 

Bottom's Up Bunny

Easy to make.
One Styrofoam ball, same size as pot top, needs to fit in half way or so.
Stretch out some cotton balls & fluff em up & glue to half the ball.
One cotton ball for the tail & glue on butt.
Stretched a cotton ball & shaped them into feet, (to make em look more real I then added circles cut from fun foam for paw pads.
Stick some flowers & leaves around him & he is done! Really fast & easy!

Bunny Centerpiece

Old Vase..Reloaded

I have some old glass vases that are hanging around. They are plain and really have no personality.

I decided to add a little pizazz to one.

Grabbing my glue gun, some cord, red ribbon and my old uninspired vase. I got to work.

 I started at the bottom and wrapped the cord around the vase, hot gluing every so often.

Here is the vase completed covered.

Then I added some ribbon for a finishing touch.

Adding new life to an old vase, easy as 1.. 2.. 3

My Big Carrot

I tempted to make a carrot wreath on my door. 

I checked out Pinterest for some inspiration.

I found a look a liked, bought and gathered supplies. 

After much trial and error.

Here is what I came up with...

It is hanging on my front door.

Twig Works Wall Cone Form

I did not document how I did this.

I did use the following

• 1 wire cone form

• 3 rolls of 1.5" orange burlap ribbon

• 3 rolls of 2" orange burlap ribbon

• 1 roll of 1.5" green burlap ribbon

• 1 roll of green ribbon

• 1 roll of dark green ribbon

I made bows and twisted them on the wire form with wire.

Bring on Spring – My Burlap Banner

With hopes of seeing signs of spring I am starting to do a little spring/easter decorating around the house. More to come on the final result in a later post.

I did make a burlap banner for my mantel. 

I rounded up some supplies:

Using my silhouette machine I created and cut out carrots and bunnies. In measuring my mantel I decided to do 4 carrots and 3 bunnies.

 I used wavy green ribbon to symbolize the carrot greens. 

I measured out the twine and then taking each triangle, I folded over the edge over the twine and sewed a hem.  You can sew the hem on all and then feed the twine through, but I found this way easier.

Once all 7 were completed I hot glued on the bunnies and carrot, alternating. 

And here you go my Burlap Easter Banner.
